Yield: every load reconciled
A timber haulier is paid through self-invoices, after the fact. Yield checks that every load driven has also been paid for, at the right weight and the right price, and shows what each truck earns.
In use at a haulier. The client is not named.
The problem
Weighing receipts and invoices carry different numbers and arrive at different times. Comparing them by hand takes days.
A missing load, or one with the wrong weight, is found late. Sometimes never.
How it works
- Step 1The weighing receipts are collected from the mailbox automatically.
- Step 2The self-invoices are read in, with the broker's commission line by line.
- Step 3Every line is recalculated: weight, price and total. The same file cannot be read twice.
- Step 4Loads are matched on reference number, otherwise on date, weight, place and assortment.
- Step 5The result shows on a board, in an audit sheet and as contribution per truck and week.
What gets better
Every load counts
No load disappears between the scale and the invoice. The original is kept.
Wrong payment shows
An invoice paying more than 20 percent below forecast is flagged at once.
The result in advance
Months still waiting for invoices get a forecast.
Everything logged
Every change and approval is kept, and a person's correction is never overwritten.
Where it stands
- Status
- in use at a haulier
- Matches marked certain
- right in every case tested
- Places in the register
- 73
- Truck data
- kept longer than the maker's 14 days
The idea behind it
The haulier should know every week that it has been paid for what it drove, instead of finding out at year-end.
